Worcester Evening News Review – 11th February 1993 – “The Opposite Sex” – Norbury Theatre, Droitwich
A Sexual MinefieldA ding-dong battle of the sexes provides an entertaining night out in the St John’s Players adults-only comedy “The Opposite Sex”, at the Norbury Theatre, Droitwich – which runs until Saturday.
There’s laughs galore from the word go when Avon lady Judith and her husband Eric, convincingly played by Jeanette Stanley and Dan Phillips get invited to dinner with Vicky and Mark – Christine King and Keith Stanley, whose timing made the jokes flow with deceptive ease.
It’s a today script for a today situation with Yuppie versus Green and woman against man. No quarter is given as the wonderfully witty script is given plenty of welly by the cast, positively directed by Patricia Norris.
If you like a comedy with cheek, a good cast, cheerful scenery and a happy ending don’t miss this production. It’s fun.
